Blackberry Vanilla Bourbon

Blackberry Vanilla Bourbon

Blackberry Vanilla Bourbon

We were lucky to find blackberries at the Tennessee farmers market this year. It was so much fun to pick them in previous years and the smell of the blackberries ripening on the vine reminded me of good bourbon. I've added Woodford Reserve and some vanilla for a smooth jam!

For Kirsten

I  lost my sister Kirsten to colon cancer in 2018. She was the first person I ever made jam with. Neither of us had made jam before - so we took a bunch of grandma’s strawberries and put them in a huge pot. Little did we know it would take forever for them to reach the right temperature because we had way too much! (I later learned that small batches were the way to go). But we had fun and l will always treasure that memory.

To honor her, when a jar of any of those flavors is sold, $1 will be donated to the Minnesota  Colorectal  Cancer  Research  Foundation.
